Travels
In 2007, after my first year in University I was given the opportunity to travel to Egypt. This was an eye opener for me for two reasons. The first was in my growing appreciation for Egypt's history, including the famous pyramids and mummified bodies. The second, is this trip sparked my need to travel to other countries, including Europe and India.
In traveling to some of these third world countries I witnessed individuals who were poverty stricken or living on the streets sick with diseases such as leprosy. In seeing these hardships, I was able to appreciate how privileged I am to be born into a country such as Canada. Where as a child I was given the opportunity to go to school. Unlike other children in different parts of the world. I was given an education that would allow me to make the best judgments and choices in my life. Thus, my travels are a reminder of the importance of education.

While teaching in the UK I took every opportunity to travel to parts of western Europe!
